Web Design Mistakes

What should be my plan B if you do not get into the art of graduate programs I applied?
My undergraduate degree is another area I have only one year of work experience and has been eight years since then. I made the mistake take jobs that were faster money as a waiter and a trendy bar, but not exactly give me more experience. I learned to make the basic design and web design. I'm doing for friends, but have not had to many projects. Now I decided to apply to two graduate schools of art of designing interactive programs. If I do not get into what are my options and a new application? Should I try to apply my credit towards a BFA in place? I have a portfolio.
If you plan to go in the arts, such as design, interior design or somewhere in that area .. should have a portfolio of works of art of the possible. I want to start now if you. I heard that there are not many jobs around, if you're going to be an artist or participated in some type of art. Im kind of in a similar situation, I see art, drawing, crafts .. etc, but it's hard living with him. So I went for a job that is in demand at this time (nursing), but at the same time I am taking art classes jusst because I'm happy and I have a portfolio with the hope that someday I can do what I am really passionate. =]]
